Obituary of Patricia Kathleen Ricketts
Indianapolis— Patricia “Pat” K. Ricketts, a long-time resident of the west side of Indianapolis, died Wednesday the 15th of August in her home. Born in 1947 in East Chicago, Indiana, to Edward and Ann Dolatowski, Pat received an Associate of Science in medical technology from Indiana University. Pat was a research tech at Covance for almost 20 years. Pat spent the early part of her life in northwestern Indiana where she met her first husband and was married in 1967. Pat’s first marriage lasted a couple years and she had her first daughter. After that, she spent some time exploring the hippie counterculture that Indiana had to offer, spending time in Lafayette and Bloomington, among other towns. She then moved back to northeastern Indiana where she met her second husband. They moved to Michigan City, Indiana. Pat spend time there working in a steel mill and as a stay at home mom to her second daughter. She then got her associates degree in medical technology and began a career as a lab tech. After her second marriage ended, she moved to Indianapolis. She loved reading books about science and especially loved mystery novels. She loved rock music; her favorite bands were Bob Marley, Nirvana, 21 Pilots, and The Doors. She loved smoking and eating coffee cake. She was funny and thoughtful and gave great gifts. She is survived by her daughters, Eve Ricketts and Jennifer Bingham, her granddaughter, Lexi Hale, her sister, Mary Ann Ridder, and Eve’s partner, Patrick Armstrong. Pat adored her granddaughter and loved spending time with her. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Dolatowski and Terry Dolatowski. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 2pm until 5pm at Family Funeral Care. Memorial gifts may be made to the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
