IN THE CARE OF
Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary
Patricia Joan Dagon “Pat”, 77, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2022, at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana after a long illness. She is survived by her son, Matthew, daughter in law, Meghan (McGinity), grandsons, Jacob and Leo, brother, Ken Nichols (Donna), sister, Andrea Maynard (Jim), and her dog, Maddie. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Dagon Jr., her sisters, Marlene Glomski (Charles) and Brenda Tolliver, and her parents, Marlin and Mary Ellen Nichols.
Pat was born January 9, 1945 and grew up in Indianapolis. She attended grade school at Holy Angels, Christ the King, and St. Pius X before graduating from St. Agnes Academy in 1962. She attended the Ray Vogue College of Design (Illinois Art Institute) in Chicago, IL and studied interior design. She married her high school sweetheart/love of her life, John Dagon, in January 1967, and enjoyed 46 years of marriage before John’s passing in 2012. The two were members of St. Matthew Catholic Church for over four decades.
Pat worked for most of her career at Martin Fine Furniture and was an exceptional salesperson. She loved to travel, either with her husband John, or later, with her son Matt and family. She was a great cook, loved crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, and listening to the Indy 500 on the radio in her backyard. She was kind, generous, extra polite, and beautiful inside and outside to anyone she met.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 23 from 5-7 pm at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E. 71st St., Indianapolis, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Thursday, March 24 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 4100 E. 56th St. She will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor and/or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
