Noel Etha Diehl, née Eschbach, born on December 7, 1945, to Johann and Elisabeth (Pack) Eschbach in McMinnville, Oregon. She passed away on April 26, 2023, in Noblesville, IN.
Preceded in death by her parents, her older sister Pamela V. (Marvin) Wolfmeyer, and her younger sister Melody (Patrick) Greco, and her brother-in-law Terry Berendts. Survived by her twin sister Carol Berendts, her son Jody (Carrie) Diehl, her daughter Danielle (Hans) Aeschbacher, her nephew Drew (Lisa) Berendts, and her niece Andria Berendts, nephews Johann, Zachery, Sebastian, and Gabriel Greco, and her grandchildren Olivia, Axel and Asher.
Noel entered this world with her twin sister into a musical family. She learned to play the cello at an early age in Ames, IA. Her family moved to Cedar Rapids in 1956. After she was married and had her son, she moved to the Chicago area in 1969. Noel worked at Northwestern University for 20 years as a clerk in the mail room. She worked hard to make sure her children thrived and pursued their endeavors. After her children were grown, she moved back to Noblesville in 1997 to help take care of Terry in his final years and remained there with her twin sister.
A service will be held at 12 p.m., on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Cornerstone Lutheran Church Carmel, 4850 E. Main St, Carmel, IN 46033, with visitation from 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
