Mrs. Sandra Kay Watkins

56, Indianapolis, passed away February 23, 2010. Sandie was born June 14th, 1953 in Crawfordsville, Indiana and is daughter of Joe and Ilene Elliott. Sandie often referred to her roots as a farm girl growing up in a small town. She was a graduate of Waynetown High School, class of 1971 in Waynetown, Indiana. Sandie was a member of the Sunshine Society, played in the band and was co-editor of Aceria, her high school annual.

Sandie's attention to detail and organizational skills landed her a job at Inland Container Corporation. After 14 years, she retired from Inland to raise her family. In 1997, Sandie resumed her career, becoming the property manager for RDC Management Corporation, Inc. In 2001, she also became Vice President of Caesar Packaging Corporation. Sandie made many close and professional relationships with her business associates throughout the state of Indiana.

Sandie enjoyed being active in her community, including serving as the current treasurer of the Eagles Way Home Owner Association. She loved gardening and reading. She was a member of Jesus Messiah Church.

In additional to all her business skills, interests and talents, Sandie built strong, loyal and loving friendships over the years. Sandie was special. Always nurturing relationships with honesty, esteem, affection, respect, and trust. But most of all, Sandie was a devoted wife, and beloved mother. She truly loved raising her family and bestowed in them the same values which she believed in and practiced throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Elliott. She is survived by her husband, Caesar E. Watkins; sons, Lance E. and Joesar L. Watkins; stepdaughters, Cherise L. and Cynthia L. Watkins; stepson, Chappell and wife Gina Watkins; mother, Ilene Elliott; sister, Charlotte and husband Bern Fekete; brother, Larry and wife Karen Elliott; and 5 grandchildren; Alysia, Chase and Connor Watkins, Aundrea and Brandon Smith; nieces, Cyndie Baird and Marie A. Merritt; and nephews, Aaron Fekete and Bryon Elliott.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 2 at Crown Hill Funeral Home. Visitation 1-3 pm and services at 3 pm.
