Michael George Meyer, 76, of Indianapolis, died peacefully October 30, 2023, surrounded by family.
Mike was born March 4, 1947, in Bristol, PA, to the late Harland and Lucille Meyer. He grew up with three siblings, all of whom he cared about deeply. There were not many childhood pictures of him without his sister Margaret, and he enjoyed attending football and baseball games with his brothers Steve and Fred over the years. Mike graduated from Catholic High School in Little Rock, AR, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He married Arlyn Marie Hanle in 1971, and he worked as a retail pharmacy manager for many years while they raised their three daughters and became beloved grandparents. Mike was a devoted Catholic and a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and godfather. He was hardworking and witty, took pride in his family, and found great joy in playing with his granddaughters. He was a kind and gentle soul to all who knew him.
Mike was predeceased by his parents and his daughter Amy Schomacker. He is survived by his wife Arlyn; daughters Lisa Gunyon (Aaron) and Sarah Overpeck (Chris); son-in-law Geoff Schomacker; granddaughters Olive and Hazel Schomacker and Piper and Maya Gunyon; siblings Steve Meyer, Fred Meyer (Diane), and Margaret Schwallie (Ron); and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church, 4650 Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m.
