Matthew A. Nielsen
40, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 12, 2016. Matthew was one of the most easy-going and helpful people that you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. Matthew worked for Gaylor Electric, in addition to being a coach for his children’s basketball and soccer teams. He was also a “dance dad” and the former coach of the Franklin Central Girls Basketball team. Matthew enjoyed being a part of the St. Jude Men’s Club and cheering for the Seattle Seahawks, the Tar Heels, Eastern Eagles and Huskies. In addition to being a great coach and friend, he was also a family man who will be missed by his wife of 12 years, Teresa; his children Emma (11) and Evan(5); his Mother, Ruth Nielsen; his sister, Emily (Derek) Hughes; his nephew, Hunter; his mother-in-law, Karen (Randy Comstock) Metro; his father-in-law, Bill Metro; and his brother-in-law, James Metro. Matthew was preceded in death by his father, John. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 15, 2015 from 2-8pm in Little and Sons Stop 11 Chapel. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a trust fund for Matthew’s children, in care of the funeral home.
