Mary Patricia Madden

Mary Patricia Dorsey Madden passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Community Hospital North. She was born to Forest and Ellen Dorsey in Chicago, Illinois on April 5, 1937. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Mundelein College in 1959. On August 13, 1960, she married Francis Madden in Chicago, Illinois. She devoted her life to her children and husband, leaving her position as a chemist at Wishard Hospital Lab in 1966 after her first child was born. She was the youngest of five children. Her parents, three brothers: Francis, Donald, and John Dorsey and their wives, along with her sister Dorothy Gordon and husband, and her first granddaughter preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Francis J. Madden. She is also survived by her three children: Thomas (Margaret) Madden of Noblesville, IN, Janice Sontag of Payson, AZ, Karen Madden (Neil Toepfer) of Worthington, OH. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3:30 pm until 7:30 pm on Thursday, January 27th at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will begin a 10:30 am on Friday, January 28th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Carmel. Interment follows at Crown Hill Cemetery.
