IN THE CARE OF
Leppert Mortuaries - Nora
Mary M. “Marge” Kennedy,
93, of Carmel, Indiana, departed this life on Monday, July 15, 2024. Marge was born on June 5, 1931 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Henry C. & Lillian E. (Stoll) Eckrich. She graduated from Central Catholic High School and attended The College of Saint Teresa in Winona, Minnesota and Indiana University.
Marge was a kind and gentle soul who dedicated her life to her faith and family. She was a longtime member of both St. Jude and St John’s Catholic Church in Fort Wayne and later at Christ the King Catholic Church in Indianapolis. She was a talented artist and relaxed by sketching, drawing and coloring. Growing up she also enjoyed regular trips to her family summer home at Lake Wawasee. In retirement, she loved to travel and experience new cultures and always loved having a lake view from her home.
Marge was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard “Dick” Farley and James L. Kennedy; daughter, Karen Dutchess and sister, Ruth Lawrence.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Lisa) Farley, Kathy (Dave) McCaw, Tim (Diane) Farley, Fran (Lyle) Kendall, and step sons Jim (Vicki) Kennedy, Mike (Pegg) Kennedy, Bill Kennedy and John (Celeste) Kennedy; son-in-law, Steve Dutchess; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private family visitation for Marge will be from 10-11am on Saturday, July 20th at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Chapel (9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis, IN 46240) followed by a funeral service at 11:00am officiated by Msgr. Tony Volz and her son-in-law, Deacon Lyle Kendall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Marge’s name to Christ the King Catholic Church. The family would also like to thank the caretakers at Story Cottage in Carmel for all the wonderful care and Paradigm Hospice.
