Linda Ann Murray, 81, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on April 11, 2022 in Indianapolis.
Linda was born in Effingham, Illinois to John and Mabel Yocum on April 20, 1940. She married Charles Murray on September 26, 1987 in Effingham, Illinois. She attended Effingham High School. She was the founder of Volunteer Services where her contributions earned her the key to the city presented to her by Mayor Clyde Martin. Volunteer Services began in Effingham Country and became a 7 country-wide program. Linda then moved on to found another youth-oriented program, The Sky’s the Limit based in Vandalia, Illinois.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Charles Stroud, daughters Laura Stroud (Ogolini), Donna Murray (Bachelor), Karla Murray , and Susan Murray, great-granddaughter Molly Stephens, and brother Robert Yocum.
Linda is survived by her husband, Charles Murray, daughters Colette Stroud (Van Dyne), Lisa Stroud (Zini), Karen Murray (Mense), son Chuck Murray, and brother Ervin Yocum. Linda took great interest in her grandchildren and felt strongly about her commitment to helping guide them through their formative years. She was particularly involved with Sara, Kristen, Danielle, Kourtney, Nichole, Rachael, and Russell along with numerous other lovely grandchildren.
