June Adams

97, Passed away on October 16th, 2018. Born April 29, 1921, June, as she was known to those closest to her, was born to Jesse and Bertha Hartley on the southeast side of Indianapolis. June was married to Henry Joseph Adams for 70 years before his passing where they both resided most of their time in the city of Beech Grove. June was a loving mother of 6 children as well as grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church and later Fellowship of Christ Baptist Church in Beech Grove. She was employed for many years at Standard Grocery and William H. Block but her most important role was the care of her family. After retiring, she and her husband Joe spent many years in the Venice area of Florida where they enjoyed the sun and ocean in a rather laid back life. She will be greatly missed by her 6 children, son Jerry (Mary) of Schaumburg, IL; daughter Susie Ivey of Indianapolis, son Jim (Pat) of Indianapolis, son Jack (Dee) of Monrovia, son Joe (Evelyn) of Beech Grove, and daughter Joyce (Jim) of Greencastle. June is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Leonard Hartley of Indianapolis. A visitation celebrating June's life will be at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop 11 Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46237 from 10am to 1 pm on Saturday the 20th. The service on Saturday the 20th at 1pm. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Joe at Greenwood Cemetery, 620 W Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana Memorial Contributions can be made to the Southside Animal Shelter, 1614 W Edgewood Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46217.
