Joseph "Coach" Wiles, age 78, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021. Joe was born April 30, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Lena Marie (Eller) Wiles and Edwin Wiles. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Wiles and twin sons, Terrence and Owen Wiles. Joe was a member of the Army National Guard, Little Flower Catholic Church, and a Sacred Heart graduate. Coach was passionate about Little League and youth sports as well as anything baseball. He even figured out how to successfully bet baseball as he also enjoyed a bit of gambling. His first job was delivering papers and he always made sure his parents had one and continued to read the paper throughout his life.
Joe is survived by his daughters, Julie Markowitz and Andrea Sandlin (John); siblings, Charles Wiles and Betty Ressino; grandchildren, David Joseph Markowitz, Andrew Jacob Markowitz, Savannah Sandlin, and Riley Sandlin; and all those he was so passionate to coach.
Visitation for Joe will be held Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46219. His Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Little Flower Catholic Church, 4720 E 13th St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46201 with entombment to follow in Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
