John Lee Sexton

70, of Indianapolis, went to be with his Lord on July 12, 2014. He was born in London, Kentucky, on July 6, 1944 to the late Leander Sexton and Regina (Begley) Sexton. He married Judy Nugent on July 10, 1964. John worked for 34 years at GM Truck and Bus as a Crane Hookup Operator, retiring in 2003. He was an employee of Allied Barton Securities for 7 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. John's love of God was only surpassed by his love for his wife and family. He was a member of Bethel Family Worship Center. John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy; his mother-in-law, Flossie Nugent; four children, Steve (Michelle) Sexton of Plainfield; Scott (Angie) Sexton of Avon; Kim (Ronnie) Watts of Indianapolis; and Jason (Angel) Sexton of Indianapolis; 18 grandchildren and their spouses; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters; 1 brother; 1 sister-in-law and her husband. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Oscar Nugent, and his brother, Paul Harris. The family would like him to know that they love their hero to the moon and back. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 15th at Bethel Family Worship Center, 24 S. Lynhurst Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46241, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be Wednesday, July 16th at 11:00 am at the church. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery, 425 N. Holt Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46222.
