John W. Netherton

John Wayne Netherton, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 14, 2023, in Indianapolis. John was born in Indianapolis to Robert and Amanda (Ethel) Netherton on June 9, 1946. He grew up in Lebanon, Indiana. He married Daniele (Murray) Netherton on July 30, 1977, at Hillsdale Rose Garden in Indianapolis. He graduated from IUPUI. He worked at St. Vincent Hospital for over thirty years. He was a veteran serving in the Army during the time of the Vietnam War and was awarded a good conduct medal as well as a national defense service medal. He enjoyed being involved with St. Vincent De Paul and Christ the King Church. John is preceded in death by his wife, Daniele Netherton; parents, Robert and Ethel Netherton, siblings; Jack Netherton, Bob (Shirley) Netherton, Judy (Shellie) Frazier, Barbara (Stanley) Glass, and Joan (Dennis) Slipher. John is survived by his children, Scott Netherton (Amy Powell), and Kelly Netherton; siblings Mary Tunison, Jim Netherton, Ted (Ruth) Netherton, and Tom (Pat) Netherton as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday February 11, 2023, at Crown Hill Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be held immediately prior from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm on Saturday February 11, 2023 at Crown Hill Funeral Home. In honor of John's love of animals, memorials may be given to the Indianapolis Humane Society or Waldo's Muttley Crew
