John H. McCarthy, 96, of Indianapolis departed this life Saturday, September 15, 2012. John worked as a patent attorney with Shell Oil Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was preceded in death by his parents: John H. and Evelina (Marlow) McCarthy. John is survived by his wife: Helen (Bowen) McCarthy, step-daughter: Janet (Cort) Gillett and a niece: Nancy Watson. Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 18th in Our Lady of Peace chapel. Contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church.
