Jesse “Red” Stanton Mason
95 of Indianapolis passed away on June 1, 2016. He was born March 12, 1921 in Ohio County, Kentucky to Edwin and Georgia Pate Mason. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief on submarines for 30 years retiring in 1969, and then he was the supervisor for the State of Indiana Steam Plant for 15 years retiring in 1985. He was a life time member of V.F.W., American Legion, Disabled Veterans, Fleet Reserve, and Submarines Veterans of WWII. Jesse is preceded in death by his wife Marie “Betty” Mason, grandson Joshua Mason He is survived by his children Linda Hamilton, Edwin Mason, Donald Mason, sister Wilda Borah, brother Gene Mason, grandchildren, Kelley Zainey, Derrick Hamilton, Jessica Cossalter, Eric Mason, Jacob Mason, Lucas Mason and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, June 4 from 11 am – 2 pm at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm at Washington Park East Cemetery.
