She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Clarence Bruhn; her parents, Raymond and Anna Kinsey, and her sister, Mary Stimson. She is survived by her brother, Paul Kinsey (Janet) of North Carolina; her children: Carol (Paul) Fairchild of Anchorage, Alaska, Wayne Bruhn of Bloomington, Indiana, Gail (Rodney) Clark of Greenleaf, Idaho, Diane Kolas of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Wanda Huszar of St. John, Indiana; six grandsons; four granddaughters; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Jane will be inurned at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana, at a future date.
Jane was a long-time resident of Hammond, Indiana, where she grew up, raised her family, and worked at Inland Steel, Hammond Public Library, H & R Block and Hammond Fence Company. She was active in her church and spent many years as a Girl Scout Leader.
After caring for her parents, she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, to be near family and pursue her many interests.
Jane enjoyed the out-of-doors, especially camping, birds, and flowers. She was an extensive traveler and adventurer. She volunteered at the Indiana State Archives and as an usher at Clowes Memorial Hall.
Jane’s many passions included genealogy (member of the DAR), needlework, symphony, reading, solving sudoku puzzles, and playing board games and cards.
She was truly young at heart and an inspiration to us all.
A visitation for Jane will be held on Monday, November 11th from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM in the Peace Chapel at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM.
