Ila Gladys Davis

Ila Gladys Davis, age 87, of Martinsville, Indiana passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Ila was born December 4, 1933 is Pine Ridge, Kentucky to Wilson and Madge (Bryant) Coomer. She worked at Steak and Shake for many years till going to work at I.U. Health in housekeeping until retirement. She was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed volunteering at Seniors in Mooresville especially when finding treasures at a bargain. She loved it when her daughter Rachel or another family member could go with her. Gladys loved to cook big meals for her family; especially when Caleb (great grandson) came back to Indiana for a visit, she always made Chili which was his favorite. The biggest enjoyment she got out of life was spending time with family and friends. She never knew a stranger. Gladys is going to be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Stephen Davis Sr. and brother Melvin Coomer. Ila is survived by her children Stephen Davis Jr., James R. (Pam) Davis, Rachel A. Davis, sister Wilma Jean Carpenter, brother Donald Coomer and 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Ila's life will be Friday January 22, 2021 at 6 pm at Family Funeral Care. The service will be live streamed on Family Funeral Care Facebook page. Due to Covid-19 social distancing and face mask and a limit of 50 people for the service are required.
