Harry A. Donovan, Jr.
98, of Indianapolis, departed at his home on Sunday, February 2, 2020. He was born August 21, 1921 in Patsburg, Alabama to the late Harry A. and Jenny (Downey) Donovan. Harry proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in the European Theatre. Harry flew the B-17 Flying Fortress for the 397th Bombardment Group flying bombing missions.
Harry was a graduate of Auburn University, earning a certificate as a Residential Real Estate Broker. Upon moving to Indiana, he began work for FC Tucker in 1959.
Harry was a longtime and dedicated member of Broadway United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors and Sigma Chi Fraternity.
Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie (Weeks) Donovan and his devoted children, Harry A. “Hobby” Donovan, III and Patricia Marie Moran.
He is survived by his grateful grandchildren, Cara Donovan, Harry “Hobs” (Lauren) Donovan and Danielle and Melissa Moran; his dear daughter-in-law, Cheryle Donovan and dear son-in-law, William Moran.
Visitation for Harry will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22nd at Broadway United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
