Genevieve Anderson Wagner, age 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. She was born in Indianapolis the daughter of the late George and Ethel (Cole) Anderson. She was a devoted wife, mother, and mama. She in her younger years had worked at the Hop & Stop Neighborhood Market and had worked at Roselyn Bakery and retired from Hooks Drug Store. She was a member at Grace Baptist Church for many years and Volunteered on the PTA Public School # 46 Daniel Webster. She was a member on several bowling leagues in her younger years. Her home and fridge was always open to all family and friends and on occasion a stranger which would become a friend. Her home was a gathering place for such great blessings. If she had something and you needed it it would become yours.
She was married for 61 years to James Floyd Wagner and he preceded her in death in 2017; she is also preceded in death by her grandson Jeremiah Wilson in 2007 and a granddaughter, Nicole Nowling in 2022. and her sister, Margaret Kays.
They were blessed with a very large family; 3 daughters, Kim Caffery (Carl), Debbie Jacobs (Jim) and Margo Wilson (Gary); 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Lois Skiles, George Anderson and Sally Nave; and many nieces and nephews
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 3860 E. Main Street, Danville, Indiana. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Clayton Cemetery in Clayton, Indiana
