Frances Ryan

Frances A. Ryan, 75, of Indianapolis passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024. She was born on October 29th, 1948, to the late John E. Monaghan and Audrey R. Monaghan. Fran graduated from Bishop Chatard High School in 1966. Fran married Gerald (Jerry) L. Ryan on September 5th, 1970. Fran fostered dozens of infants through St. Elizabeth adoption agency. She worked in the St. Lawrence Parish Religious Education office for more than 10 years and worked as a bus driver at MSD Washington Township for over 20 years. Fran enjoyed weekend travels, games, adventures with friends, and welcomed every opportunity to host holiday and family celebrations. In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by sister Catherine M. Bailey, brothers, Patrick J. Monaghan, Michael E. Monaghan, and Timothy J. Monaghan. Survivors include husband Gerald (Jerry) L. Ryan, children Cynthia R. L. Fletcher (Kyle), Christopher D. Ryan (Kyla), Patrick J. Ryan (Melissa), brother Stephen F. Monaghan (Stephanie), six grandchildren, many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Coleman Pregnancy & Adoption Services, 3388 Founders Rd. Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46268. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2024, followed by funeral mass at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4217 Central Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46205.
