Obituary of Fleates Charles Hall
Fleates Charles Hall, affectionately known as Charles, was born on July 28, 1935 to the late Mamie Anderson and Jake Hall in Foxworth, Mississippi. Surrounded by family, Charles entered eternal rest on September 17, 2024. Charles attended the Marion County Training School in Columbia, Mississippi. After graduating in 1954, Charles migrated to the Midwest and planted roots in Chicago and Indianapolis. In Chicago, he began a career in the steel plant, holding various positions over the years. He later relocated to Indianapolis with the plant. He worked at the steel mill for 45 years until retiring. Having devoted his life to Christ at an early age, Charles joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Indianapolis. He later joined the choir and was very involved in the church. Those that knew him, knew his faith and love for Christ remained at the forefront of his life. Charles was an avid bowler and enjoyed competing in different leagues around the city. His house is adorned with trophies and memorabilia of his many triumphs in bowling. He truly enjoyed life and loved his friends. Charles was blessed with two children, Beverly and Charles II, whom he loved and cherished dearly. Departing this life before him, they left memories and love to last a lifetime. Along with his parents and children, Charles is preceded in death by his sister, Katie May Barber. Left to cherish his memories are grandchildren: Everett (Kineshia) Roark, Tiffany (Namyer) Reynolds, and Charles Hall III; 6 great-grandchildren: Jacob and Kathryn Roark, Alezander, Samantha, and Nathan Reynolds, and Coretta Hall; nieces and nephews: Debra Campbell, Linda Thompsom, David Oatis, and Vanessa Oatis and extended family and friends. A visitation for Fleates will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
