Fannie C. Harmon

Fannie Christine Harmon was born on January 23, 1934, in Cedar Hill, Tennessee, to Lawson Gardner Sr. and Etta Hicks Gardner. She departed this life on July 3, 2023, at 89 years of age. In 1964 Fannie moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. Soon after, she became a faithful member of the Washington Park Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, where she enjoyed attending weekly meetings. Fannie worked hard as a domestic engineer for many years and loved spending her free time with family and close friends. She also enjoyed puzzles, traveling, reading, and playing board games. Fannie had a big heart and was a kind and loving soul who would open her door to anyone in need.

Fannie was preceded in death by her parents Lawson and Etta Gardner; five brothers: Ike Weaver, Eugene Weaver, Charles H. Gardner, Lawson Gardner Jr., and Woodard Gardner Sr.; five sisters: Mary Hammond, Lou Agnes Jones, Amy Gardner, Mamie D. Price, and Isabelle Walton.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Lawerence (Teresa) Washington, Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana, and one daughter, Theressa “Tess” (Larry) Kimble of Groveport, Ohio; three grandchildren: Devon A. Maxey of Indianapolis, Indiana, Crystal J. Kimble of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Candace N. Kimble Johnson of Chesapeake, Virginia; three great-grandchildren: Devon A. Maxey II of Indianapolis, Indiana, Allen D. Brown of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Cianna N. Johnson of Chesapeake, Virginia. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews will also treasure Fannie's memory.

A visitation for Fannie will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 1:30 PM.
