Obituary of Everett William Lodge Jr.
Everett William "Bud" Lodge Jr., age 88, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Everett was born July 15, 1933 in Indianapolis the only child of Everett and Goldie (Olds) Lodge. He proudly served in the military branch of the Army during the Korean War. He qualified as a sharp shooter while serving. Upon his return he met and married Rosina. Although he had a few various jobs (ie. Marmon-Herrington, Allison) his main career was a hearing aid technician which he worked in for over 50 years. His wife and children were his main focus. He loved them dearly and enjoyed the holidays when the family would gather at their home. At Christmas time “Grandpa” would play Santa and would wear a Santa hat. He would choose a great-grandchild to be his helper and hand out the gifts. His hobbies were his love of photography, watching and attending auto races (Sprint Cars in particular were his favorite), and building and repairing HAM radio equipment and electronics. His call sign was WA9BTS. Everett also enjoyed tinkering around on his cars. A simple pleasure he truly enjoyed was eating chocolate cake from MCL and sipping on a Jamocha shake from Arby’s. Everett is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rosina (Dwenger) Lodge; children, Curtis Lodge and his wife Robin of Indianapolis, Deanna Burton and her husband Chris of Bargersville, Gerald Lodge and his wife Evelyn of Greenwood, Carol Flajs of Avon and Mark Lodge and his wife Kim of Carmel; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2022 at West Ridge Park Cemetery, 9295 W. 21st Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.familyfuneralcareindy.com for the Lodge family.
