David "Dave" JR Alexander

David "Dave" JR Alexander, age 73, of Southport, Indiana passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022. Dave was born in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Goldie Mae (Farrell) Alexander and James H. Alexander. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Faye Fitzgerald and 7 siblings. Dave began working early in life and was dedicated in his career in concrete. He worked at Southside ReadyMix and retired from IMI. He loved animals, especially his dogs. He also enjoyed car shows, cruise-ins, and watching Nascar. He was a "collector" of many things, filling his man cave with treasures that even spread into display cases in the main house. He especially loved old cars and riding his Harleys. He will be remembered as a good old boy who never met a stranger and would help anyone, even though he might enjoy a good natured debate. Dave is survived by his wife, MaryAnne (Schomaker) Alexander; his daughter, Kim Hampton (Scott); his sons, David Alexander (Candi) and Christopher Alexander; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and his sister, Linda Coffenberry. A Celebration of Life Gathering for Dave will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 PM.
