Darryl Owen Thomas was born on March 3, 1950 in Oak Harbor, Washington. In 1964, the Thomas family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where Darryl graduated from Shortridge High School in 1968. He worked at Larue Carter Hospital for 10 years as a psychiatric technician. For 35 years, he worked for Ascension Medical Services as a medical technician, giving physicals to the police and fire personnel.
Darryl loved to play golf, travel and bicycle. He enjoyed the old classic movies and working crossword puzzles. His love for of singing led him to be a three year member of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir and with several city and church choirs.
Darryl's favorite meeting place with his many friends was the Red Key Bar, where he was known as "Doc" because of his medical vocation.
Above all, Darryl loved his family and he was a great brother to his siblings and a great uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
We will miss you, Darryl. But we know that you are enjoying a much more deserved reward.
