Charles L. Marshall

Charles went to heavenly ticket office and told them It's time for me to go home. They gave him his heavenly ticket and told him to get onboard.
Mr. Charles Louis Marshall "Daddy", the only child of Frank Prewitt and Ernestine (Jimmy) Brown Marshall was born on July 5, 1947, at John Gaston Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He professed a hope in Christ at a very early age attending New Salem Missionary Baptist church under the guidance of Pastor G. Williams. On November 12, 2023, at 8:40pm (EST) at the age of 76 years old he was granted his angel wings and called home to rest. His final days were spent surrounded by his family.
On August 20, 1967, Charles was united in Holy Matrimonial to Johnnie (Jackson) Marshall at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, and to the union a daughter was born Cynthia (Charles) Williams.
Charles received his education from Larose elementary and Carver Junior High School and Hamilton High School in Memphis Tennessee. He then decided to enlist in the United States Army Corps in 1971 whereas he served in the Vietnam War. He completed his military service and earned an honorable discharge in 1977.
Deacon Charles Marshall served faithfully on the Deacon Board under the leadership of Revered Bernard and Revered Payton and was the Minister of Music and was the Male Chorus Director at Greater St. Mark and Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church for over 30 years. He also was a Scout Master.
Charles worked at the Veterans Affairs Department in the administration office in Indianapolis Indiana where'd he retired. Afterwards he worked as a Cafeteria Assistant at Belzer Middle School until 2007.
Charles Louis Marshall departed from this life on November 12, 2023, at the age of seventy-six years. He leaves to cherish his memories wife of fifty-six years of marriage Johnnie "SUGA-WUGA' Marshall, his daughter Cynthia (Charles) Williams, his two grandchildren David (Loren) Patterson, Gabrielle S. Williams, his two great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-laws, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and beloved church family and friends.
A visitation for Charles will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church, 3650 Guion Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46222, followed by a celebration of life funeral service at 12:00 PM.
