Carrie Mae Henry

Carrie was born in Mississippi to the parents of the late Orange Echols and Caroline (Echols) Armstead. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age. She later united with Indiana Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN and was a faithful member at Faith Builders Baptist Church and living God Church of Worship, Indianapolis, IN. Carrie was united in holy matrimony to John Henry Sr. on May 2, 1968. Seven daughters and one son survive her; Dorothy (Cody) Herron, Carolyn (Keith) Mitchell, Resly (Willie) Moses, Wanda Williams, Vivian (William)Knighten-Berry, Evelyn (Wayne) Hughes, Karen Harney (Terry), John Henry, Jr, Barbara (Michael), Buffington, Bonus Sons Willie Echols and Martin Clayton. Carrie was the last living sibling, her sisters and brothers proceeded her in death. Carrie was a loving and dedicated grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother to 30 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren who will miss her presence. The love she had for her family will be passed on in her legacy to the surviving children, grandchildren, great, great grandchildren and a host of surviving nieces, nephews, friends, and family. Carrie departed this life on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, but her warm smile and kindness will be fondly remembered by all who were touched by her life. The strength and closeness of her family is her legacy.
