Carl "Dwight" Howard

Carl Dwight Howard, aged 71, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Carl was born on November 1, 1952, to the late Carlie and Lorene Howard in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Carl loved watching TV, and he was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying watching the Minnesota Vikings. He was a family man who would do anything for his family and earned his title as the “Coolest” friend’s Dad. He loved cooking and playing cards at family gatherings. He worked for the State of Indiana for over for 40 years doing maintenance carpentry. He loved woodworking and building all sorts of tables, cabinets, and wooden boxes for people. Everyone who knew him loved him. He will be missed by many.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Howard, and their son Josh Howard; his siblings: Carolyn Howard-Mason, Joey (Becky) Howard, and Linda Peace. Also, survived by his In-laws Charlene Spencer, Tina Barker, Barb Keller, Melissa Greene, Shane Milan, Shannon Carson, and Marilyn Howard, his nephews Jack "Champ" Nichols, Richie Nichols, Joe Howard, Daniel Tanner, Michael Howard, Randy Howard, Chad Howard and Jayson Howard, his nieces Gina "Sis" Kelly, Lori Ann Cherry, Nina Harmon, Robbie Peace, Nikki Spencer, Shelly Beck, Tiffany Keller Armitage, and his fur babies Kaiya and Titan, as well as many more nieces, nephews, and friends.

Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his in-laws Barbara and Charlie Milam, his brother Carlie Howard Jr, his sisters Mary and Dorothy, his brothers Darrell Howard and Steven “Fon” Howard, and his fur baby Rudy.

A public visitation for Carl will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
