Carl Bruce Hedstrom, 79, of Carmel, passed away October 20, 2021. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late George M. and Margaret V. (Swanberg) Hedstrom. Bruce attended Carl Shurz High School in Chicago and Lake Forest College in Illinois when he met his wife Alice, who survives. They were married on August 1, 1964 and recently celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Bruce worked for ITT Educational Services for 38 years as a Systems Analyst, Quality Control Manager, and finally as a District Manager for the East Coast. He greatly enjoyed both traveling for the company and companionship of his co-workers of whom he has known for many years. He received the Quality Control Manager of the Year along with several other awards.
After retirement, Bruce worked part time for Connor Prairie. He enjoyed hunting, waterskiing, and most of all, Colts football. He attended almost every home game.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice Staley, daughter, Melissa (Gary) Brooks; grandchildren, Miranda (Curtis) Brooks, Bailey Brooks, Sean Brooks; and great grandchildren, Oliver and Wren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.
