Bobby R. Leach, 79, passed away December 12, at his home in Beech Grove. Bob was born March 18, 1942 in Lincoln County, Kentucky to Delbert and Mary Verna (Pumphrey) Leach. They preceded him in death along with siblings Sylvia King, Hellen Sample, Joyce Gray, and Ernestine Abbott. He was a son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and good friend to many.
Bob worked for Tasty Bread as a shift supervisor then became a dock worker at Roadway Trucking Company eventually retiring from there. While at Roadway, he also served for many years as a Teamsters Local 135 Union Steward. He made it a point to attend the Teamsters’ Retirees luncheons, where he kept in touch with many coworkers and friends. Bob’s passion was watching sports and could be known to wager a little on the side with a couple of his sons and his grandson. He enjoyed his occasional visits to the Casinos. Bob was also an avid outdoorsman and spent many hours with his brother fishing and hunting. He will be missed tremendously by his family. His brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Annie, said he was their best friend and the biggest jokester! His sister Phyllis says he was always there when you needed him and has left her with a lot of happy memories.
Bob is survived by three sons, Tim (David) Leach, Jim (Vivian) Leach and Alan (Kim) Leach. He is also survived by grandchildren Evan Leach, Sarah (Erik) Qualls, Matthew (Victoria) Leach, Rachel (Will) Wallace and great grandchildren Grace, Payton, and Grayson, along with brother Kenny (Annie) Leach and sister Phyllis (Sam) Pullen and 13 nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Little and Sons Stop 11, 4901 E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM. Graveside service will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. Family is requesting all attendees wear a mask.
