Barbara H. Zbylut

Barbara Hania Zbylut, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 20, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Barbara was born in Warsaw, Poland to Zygmunt and Jannice Sachanowicz on January 20, 1943. She attended school in Warsaw, Poland. She married Louis E. Zbylut on April 16, 1966 at Our Lady of the Bright Mount Holy Catholic Church, in Los Angeles California. She worked as an electronics assembler for Dilectron Inc, for over 10 years. Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Often times her grandchildren referred to her as their “Best Friend”, “Secret Keeper”, or “Angel on Earth” as she always provided them a shoulder to lean on with a sound ear to listen. She loved reality television, plain M&Ms, cruising in the car, listening to Elvis Presley, and making the best foods from her childhood for her family. She secretly loved having conversations in Polish with her family because she knew she could truly be sassy without anyone understanding her. She had the brightest spirit in any room with the most gentle, soft voice, beautiful eyes of the brightest blue, and a smile that could change anyone’s day and lift their mood. Barbara really loved talking with people and getting to know them as well as sharing her own stories of being born during WWII and her escaping with her grandmother from Communist Poland. She had a special magic about her that could make people feel special because she was genuinely interested in who they were and how they were doing. Her family will deeply miss her big squishy hugs, her quick sense of humor, and most of all, her love. Barbara is preceded in death by: Father, Zygmunt Sachanowicz; Mother, Jannice; Grandmother, Stanislava Sachanowicz; Uncle, Frank Kurnik; Aunt, Maria Kurnik; Father-in-Law, Louis W. Zbylut; Mother-in-law, Anne M. Zbylut; Son-in-Law, Martin M. Guzman. Barbara is survived by: Husband, Louis E. Zbylut; Son, Louis S. Zbylut (Rita); Daughter, Elizabeth A. Zbylut-Guzman; Grandchildren, Christy L. Zbylut, Emily M. Munoz, Sherri M. Willey (Jared), Jessica L. Bracken (Jacob), Matthew S. Guzman; Great-Grandchildren, Evan, Wyatt, Luke, and Lillyanne. Visitation will be 9:00 am – 11:00 am, Monday, June 28, 2021 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 28, 2021 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with Father Tom Schliessmann of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The family of Barbara wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Katherine M. Etnier, the doctors and nurses of Community North Hospital ER and ICU units, and the staff members, nurses, and aides of Westminster Village Skilled Nursing Facility for the care given to Barbara. As well as all of the people who have shown love and support to Barbara over the years and to the family during this time.
