To Carole and the Boys     Just heard of Brian's passing and had to send you my sincerest and warmest condolences. I remember fondly how the Smulan family would invade my Dental office and the mayhem that would ensue. I always looked forward to our visits because I think more laughing happened then Dentistry. I know that in my occupation I just see glimpses of my patients lives but it wasn't hard to see that Carole and Brian loved each other and their children.  I love the picture of Brian with his best buddy because it says it all-a warm and kind soul-. It was indeed my privilege to look after his Dental needs and am honored to call him my friend. I will ever forget uncle Brian when we had our birthdays together & many more memories like the two seater watercraft that my dad hard uncle Brian & my dad tried very hard to drive it with both of them on it finaly they both decised that they would take the three seater instead & put the two seater on the dolly & took off with the three seater, then mom & antie Carole decised to go & see uncle Brain & dad  not knowing that the two seater was full of water after uncle Brian & my dad got the watercraft full of water. So my mom & antie Carole took it & found them antie Carole went to reach for uncle Brian & dad the watercraft started to sink mom & antie Carole got wet mom said Carole would not get wt but she did & that was the end of the idea of buying that watercraft.many fun times that I will  not forget.
Uncle Brian will be forever in my Heart & also in very ones Hearts that knows him.

We were saddened to hear of Brian's passing and know he will be missed by all who knew him.  Danielle and I were lucky enough to have visited with Brian and Carole last August and have a wonderful, lasting memory.

Dearest Carole, Stephen, Jeffrey and Trevor,
Many hearts in far away Ontario are sorrowful to hear news that Brian is gone. Gone, but absolutely not forgotten.
Who can forget his hearty laugh? His incredible generosity? His down-to-earth good advice?
As his little girl cousin from Ontario, I spent many a summer holiday in the company of kind and doting Brian and big brother Lyle. 
Brian would never treat cousin Marney, age 7 or a few years later, age 10, as a troublesome kid to babysit. He proudly toured through Indian Head in whatever big car he tinkered with and showed off his little cousin to his friends. If they started talking with too much colourful language, he'd say goodbye and take his cousin's innocent ears back home.
He was fun and patient, whether we were playing mini golf or sitting around listening to 45s (that's records, for you young kids).
His wedding to Carol was great fun and I grew to love Carol as much as Brian. Years later, bringing my husband Jim and two children Lyrel and JJ to spend time with Brian and Carol's family of three wonderful boys was a joy - a real celebration and confirmation of the meaning of family.
I treasure the time we had at Katepwa many years ago and just recently, when my own parents' ashes were returned to Saskatchewan. 
Brian, for certain, you are gone but never forgotten.

When I moved to Indian Head in 1966, you were assigned as my "buddy" in high school.  over the next few years, "buddy" went to "best friends:, as we shared many fond moments,  a few (OK many) beer, chased women, and generally did "guy things". your Wedding??
