Born on August 23, 1936, in Kennett, Missouri, she was the daughter of William (Joe) Presson and Delia Emma (Dill) Presson. She moved from Arkansas at an early age to Independence, Missouri in 1954 where she remained for most of her life. As a child, she loved playing basketball, softball, and running track.
Wanda was an exceptionally hard worker up until retirement at age 77. She spent most of her life working in the grocery business and spent the last 15 years as a caregiver for the elderly. She thoroughly enjoyed both lines of work.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two sons, Frankie Lee and Dennis Edward Myers. She is survived by her sons Randall Myers of Independence, Missouri and Donald Myers and wife DeAnna of Kansas City, Missouri. Additionally, she leaves behind 4 grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren. Her sons and their families were her joy in life. She used to enjoy teasing that there are two ways of doing things – the wrong way and her way.
A visitation will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00am with funeral services at 11:00am at Newcomer’s Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Road, Independence, Missouri 64050. A committal service will follow immediately thereafter at Mt. Washington Cemetery, 614 S. Brookside, Ave, Independence, Missouri 64053.
