Scott Popp, age 61 of Independence, Mo passed away Jan 17, 2022, at his home. He was born Oct 6, 1960, and the Independence Sanitarium, in Independence, MO to Ted and Norma Popp. He spent his childhood in Lee’s Summit, MO, with his mom, dad, and 3 sisters. A tree trimmer by trade, Scott loved the outdoors and throughout their marriage, he and his wife Carla and kids Shaina and Kyle often spent time fishing, hunting, horseback riding, motorcycling, four-wheeling, and anything else they could do together outside. Scott was also a member of the local International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW53).
Scott is survived by his wife Carla Popp; his son Kyle Popp; grandchildren Mackenzie Popp and Brenton, Brandon, and Destiny Rodgers; his mother Norma Popp; sisters Debbie Vogel and Kelly Klotz; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Shaina Popp, father Ted Popp, and sister Karla Joseph.
An informal visitation/celebration of life will be held at Newcomer’s Noland Road Chapel located at 509 S Noland Rd, Independence, MO 64050 on Saturday Jan 29, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00. This will be a time for friends and family to visit and share memories, but there will be no formal service during this time. The family is requesting masks for in-person attendees.
