Richard Ray McCall passed away on March 25, 2021 at the age of 93.He was born February 8, 1928 to Clarence Ray and Hulda Bennett McCall in WaKeeney, Kansas, the youngest of four siblings. He was married to Esther (Grover) McCall in 1973. She preceded him in death on November 12, 2012. Richard is survived by five nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Clarence and Delmar, and a sister, Lois McCall Rhoades all of WaKeeney. He was also preceded in death by one niece.
Richard graduated from Trego Community High School, class of 1946, and from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management in 1951. He was editor of the college newspaper, “The State College Leader.” He was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and active in Wesley Foundation along with other numerous clubs and activities.
He was a Korean War Army veteran having served in Japan at the American Forces Far East headquarters. He was a long-standing member of First Baptist Church; 500 W Truman Rd., Independence, Missouri. In lieu of flowers would like donations to be made to the church.
