Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Elmer P. Albert, 91, of Independence, MO, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2021. He is preceded in death by his lovely wife of 60 years, Leona M. Albert.
Elmer was born November 23, 1929 in Garden Plain, KS. He is proceeded in death by his parents Ted and Lynda Albert; his brothers, Eldred "Mike" Albert and Eldon Albert; daughter, Mary Albert and friend, Eleanor Burge.
Elmer is survived by two sons, Robert Albert (Brenda) of Kansas City, MO and James "Jim" Albert (Jayne) of Lee's Summit, MO; daughter, Lynda K. Stewart of Independence, MO; sister, Rose Marie Johnson of Wichita, KS; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Elmer enjoyed spending winters in Texas with his wife while she was still living. He loved vacationing with his family and he loved to go dancing. He was a farmer and a bootlegger before he became an electrician and a plumber. Elmer retired at 55 years old from UMKC after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for 63 years.

Visitation for Elmer will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Rd., Independence, MO 64050. A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 10:30 to 11:00 AM, Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 10017 E. 35th St., Independence, MO 64052. After the Mass a Committal Service will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, 701 S. Noland Rd., Independence, MO 64050.
