Dorothy Lenora Pratt

Dorothy was born May 13,1924 in Cainsville, MO. Disabled her entire life she was very active in her church as a Sunday School teacher and worked in the nursery at Mt. Washington Baptist Church in Independence, Mo. She loved watching children at her home, playing card games with friends, lots of sewing, reading and planting flowers in her garden.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John Pratt; sister, Nina Raps; and her parents, Paul and Maude Teale. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Steele & husband Michael; grandchildren, Janeane Highfill, Stacey Highfill, Schela Truelove and Brandon Steele; great grandson, Keyton Highfill; as well as nieces, Melody Evans, Cindy McCloud and Linda Turner; nephew, Edward Pratt; and her extended family.

Services for Dorothy will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Road, Independence, Missouri 64050. Visitation from 10:00am - 11:00am with funeral service beginning at 11:00am. A committal service will occur at Mt. Washington Cemetery, 614 S. Brookside Ave., Independence, Missouri 64053.
