Patricia E. Mitchell

Patricia was born November 19, 1937 in Sagamore, the daughter of Mary and Edward Ellis. She was

raised in Buzzards Bay and graduated from Bourne High School, Class of 1955. Patricia became a school

teacher at Otis Air Force Base. In 1960 she married Charles Milford Mitchell. They made their home in

Barnstable and raised three children. Patricia returned to teaching after the birth of her last child and

taught at Centerville Elementary School for 30 years.

A Mayflower descendant, Patricia loved Cape Cod and its history. Patricia will be remembered for her

patient caring nature, her willingness to listen carefully in times of joy or distress, and her love of

cardinals. She had the adoration of her children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed.

Patricia was predeceased by her brother, Michael and her ex-husband. She is survived by her two brothers

and their wives, Donald and Beth Ellis, and Edward and Mary Beth Ellis; her son Christopher and his

wife Brenda Mitchell, daughters Karen Ross and Vicki Mitchell, and five grandchildren Amanda Ross,

Matthew Ross, Lianna Mitchell, Daniel Ross, and Fiori Mitchell.

Visitation is scheduled at the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rt. 6A, SANDWICH, on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm.

A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at First Church of Christ,

Sandwich. Burial will follow at the Sagamore Cemetery
