He was born in Patuxent River, Maryland, and was the son of the late Michael Angelo and Mary Anna Cecilia (Brennan) DiBuono.
Growing up Mike and his family moved quite often. He attended St. John’s Prep and entered the Navy at 18 years of age. He served on the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam War.
Mike was introduced to living on Cape Cod through spending his summers with his family at Chase’s Ocean Grove in Dennis. It was during this period he became friends with people he knew his entire life.
Mike met his former wife, Mary, and her daughter, Nikki; and they soon began adding to their family with Cynthia (Cee Cee), Mike, and Mary (Moudjun). Their family’s earliest memories were times spent with Mike’s sisters and brother and all their spouses and children at cookouts at Nana’s house or get togethers at one another’s homes. Who could forget him being in the water at Loop Beach tossing a niece, a nephew, or one of his own off his shoulders into the deeper water or manning the grill or in the kitchen cooking….
Over the years Mike was blessed with 13 grandchildren. Now began a new generation of tradition where Mike’s children and their spouses and children spent time together with a plate of pasta and meatballs or the grill going in the summer and their kids laughing and running around. We are thankful for those memories!
Professionally Mike sold trucks for Mack, Kenworth, Peterbilt, and finally Western Star. He was a Catholic throughout his life. He enjoyed cooking for everyone (especially Italian food) and sitting down to watch a movie or a game with whoever wanted to join him.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Tom DiBuono and Tom’s wife, Anne.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia Tsiareas, Michael DiBuono (Marcia), Mary Knell, and (shared daughter) Nikki Marcantonio (Bob), his sisters Mariann Benway (Ken) and Eileen DiBuono. He will be missed by all his family, his 13 grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and friends he made along his journey in life.
Burial will be private.
Through Him we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:2
