David Burman peacefully passed away on November 9th at the age of 94. He was the first born son of Fannie and Hyman Burman of Hyannis, MA. He was the loving brother of Gene and wife Marcy and was preceded in death by brother Michael and sister Elaine Stiller and husband Eddie as well as brother in- law Carl and Shirley Mack, Harold and Harriet Mack and Lou and Evelyn Aronson.
David had great pride of being a Cape Codder graduating from Barnstable High School in 1946 before entering the Armed Services where he was stationed in Germany and Japan. After his terms in the Armed Services he attended Brandeis University with a football scholarship. That is where he met his future wife, Nancy Mack, a reluctant cheerleader and they got married in 1955. After residing in Manchester, NH where he worked in sales for Manhattan Shirt Company, he returned to the family business, Burmans of Hyannis in 1970.
He loved and was very proud of all of his family. He was thrilled with the adults that they became. They had 3 children; Jeffrey Burman (Krissen D’Yer), Cheri Burman Paulson (Ken Torlone) and Rhonda Burman Perkins (Craig Perkins).
Being a grandpa to Zippy, Jacob, Drew, Zachary, Sarah and Ethan added joy to his life. He frequently commented that you can never have enough hugs. 18 nephews and nieces called him Uncle.
Heatherwood became his home and he loved every minute of it. He was very active with bridge, sports talk and participated in frequent events with great friends.
David lived a full life surrounded by family and friends and was especially happy when he had a decent game of golf. Fore!!!!
