Anna was born in Boston and grew up in Charlestown, daughter of the late Patrick Douglas and Mary Ellen (Monagle).
She attended Cathedral High School in Boston and graduated in 1957. Her first job was with Schrafft’s. She then went on to work at New England Telephone & Telegraph Company, where she met her husband John. Anna also worked as a lunch lady at the Candia Moore School and also as a clerk at Shaws in Hooksett.
She lived in various parts of New England throughout her life, including Charlestown, MA, Medway, MA, Candia, NH, Hyannis, MA, and Methuen, MA.
She is the beloved wife of the late John F. Hoyt. She is the devoted mother of Mary C. Hamilton and her husband James of Milford, NH, Patrick J. Hoyt of Milford, NH, John D. and his wife Carolyn of Londonderry, NH, and Theresa Hoyt and Daniel Evers of Medford, MA. She is the loving grandmother of Logan and Caden Hamilton, Bridget and Julia Evers, and McKenzie and Emily Hoyt. She is predeceased by her husband John and her two sisters, Catherine Douglas and Peggy (Douglas) Brennan, several brothers and sisters-in-law, and one nephew. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, five nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and other extended family members.
She loved many things including reading, word searches, cardinals, and especially spending time with her family.
Funeral service will be held Monday, May 22nd at 1:15 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
