William "Bill" E. Savage Sr.

William Earl Savage passed away February 23, 2023 at home after a brief illness. Bill was born February 4, 1931 in Wellfleet, Nebraska to Harold and Laura Wolcott Savage. He grew up in North Platte, Nebraska and graduated from North Platte High School in 1949. After graduation Bill joined the Air Force. He returned to Nebraska after his discharge and pursed his college education.

He married Vera Humphreys of Lincoln, Nebraska on October 20, 1956. Bill has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and a Master Degree in Administrative Science

from the University of Alabama Huntsville. He is a member of the Alumni Association of Nebraska and a member of Professional Engineers of Alabama. He is also a member of Trinity Methodist Church of Huntsville. Bill retired from U. S. Army Missile Command in 1998 and pursed his many hobbies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and genealogy.

. Survivors include his wife, Vera, daughter Cheryl of Huntsville, Alabama, daughter Deborah (Gary) Kipp of Omaha, Nebraska, grandson, Gregory Kipp and granddaughter, Catherine Kipp;

brothers, Wesley (Carol) Meyer and Robert Meyer of North Platte, Nebraska, and sister Roberta Barkeloo of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his son, William E. Savage Jr., his parents, sisters, Eva Mac Donald and Louise Gottfried and infant brother Ronald Poe. Bill will be dearly missed by family and many good friends. In lieu of flowers a memorial may be sent to St. Jude Research Hospital. A memorial service will take place at a later date in Nebraska.
