William Lewis Low, age 95, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. William was born February 27, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama to Eva Bell Cole Low and James Cook Low, and as the youngest of 4 brothers and 1 sister.
William enlisted in the US Navy after High School in 1944. After his discharge he graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Electrical Engineering and then he worked as an Engineer for Alabama Power, Northrup, and the US Army, where he served as the Chief of Radar Technology Development with the US Army Missile Command. William retired from civil service in 1986 and continued to work in private industry, before enjoying a long retirement. He loved to be around his family, hosting holiday events at his home, traveling, working in the garden, enjoyed classic movies and songs, or you could find him watching his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide and Atlanta Braves baseball.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Reba G Low; his sons, David Low (Venita) and Steven Low (Doris); his grandchildren, Jessica Low Nobles, Justin Low, Danielle Low Duncan, Andrew (AJ) Low, and Wesley Low; and 6 great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by son, Raymond Lewis Low; father, James Cook Low and mother, Eva Cole Low, and his siblings.
A visitation for William will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 3:00 PM, with entombment at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
