William L. “Bill” Howard, age 94, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Saturday July 28, 2018. William was born June 15, 1924 in Georgia to Lee Groves and Ruby L. Howard. Bill was a WWII veteran and retiree of the U.S. Navy and also retired from NASA as an Engineer. He volunteered at many organizations like the Red Cross, CASA, Boy Scouts, and local swim teams.
He is survived by his son, Andy Howard (Tina); daughters, Lee Howard and Sue Youngblood (David); grandchildren, Lillis Taylor (Lloyd) and Scott Youngblood, Jr. (Taylor); and numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Anne.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, with a “sharing of stories” to follow at 2:30 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
