TEDDY WARREN STEPHENS November 18, 1937 – September 11, 2017 Teddy W. Stephens, 79, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his parents, Snook and Clara Mae Smith Stephens; and his son, Jeffrey Warren Stephens; two brothers, Rodney and Michael Stephens; and a sister, Joanne Chance. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of over 50 years, Elsie Mae Bunt Stephens; two sons, Jason (Phyllis) Stephens of Dickson, TN, and David (Jackie) Stephens of Fayetteville, TN; a brother, Jerry (Reginia) Obar of Athens, a sister, Sue Trejo of Sommerville; one grandson, Matthew (Roxy) Hobbs; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Kaitlyn Hobbs; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other friends and relatives. Teddy was a proud U. S. Navy veteran with over 25 years of service in the Naval reserve. He was a retired Aerospace engineer with an extensive career at NASA and the Marshall Space Flight Center. He loved family and life and was actively involved in a number of projects like the Saturn rocket, Space Shuttle, Gemini and others. Teddy Stephens was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him! You may visit with the family at Valhalla Funeral Home on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. There will be a funeral service conducted by Bro. Allen Baine and Pastor Zane Smith commencing in Valhalla’s Chapel at 2:00 PM.
