

March 9, 1944-December 21, 2015 - Sarah Stacey Tainter McIntyre, age 71, went to be with the Lord Monday, December 21, 2015 while at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by her husband of 51 years, Roy McIntyre and her children, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren.
Born in Raleigh, NC to the late Celia and Andrew Tainter Jr., Stacey grew up in Spruce Pine, NC. She attended Presbyterian Nursing School in Charlotte, NC where she met and later married Roy. She is survived by her brother Andrew Tainter, III(Elizabeth) of Chuluota, FL, sister Judy (Everett) Smith of Umatilla FL, daughter Cecelia (Andy) Hargrove of Ardmore, TN, daughter Robin (Russell) Coussons of Florence, AL, son Curtis(Lynn) McIntyre of Tampa, FL, son Ben(Gina) McIntyre of Chelsea, AL. Nanney left her grandchildren Adrienne and Ben Hargrove; Noah, Sarah Kate, Sydney, and Ella Coussons; Curtis, Caleb, and Lyndsey McIntyre and Bailey Drew, Parker, and Porter McIntyre.
She was a devoted follower of her Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Covenant Sunday School Class and Tuesday morning women's Bible study. Stacey served on the Food and Fellowship Committee, Meals on Wheels team, and prepared sandwiches for the Salvation Army. She was employed for 34 years at the Spine and Neuro Center. She valiantly fought Acute Myeloid Leukemia for almost two years and was an inspiration to many. The family would like to thank Dr. Ali Hachem and staff at The Cancer Center of Huntsville and Dr. Ayman Saad and the UAB Bone Marrow Transplant staff.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 27 at Valhalla Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 and Monday, December 28 at 12:00 at Grace United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Grace United Methodist Church.
