Ruth Lorraine Barnes

Ruth L. Barnes, 91, of Madison passed away Thursday. She was born in Denver Colorado to parents George Gray and Doris Gray on January 16, 1932. Ruth and her husband Buddy were very active in church. They created a children's service in their church, writing scripts and making puppets to convey the weeks message. Ruth and Buddy had a very large garden at their home and would give a lot of it to the widows at the church. Ruth loved to help people and she delivered Meals on Wheels for several years. She was very talented and loved to paint. Ruth will be truly missed by all.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buddy Barnes; brother, John Gray; daughters, Edith Geer and Patricia Barnes; and grandson, Jeremy O'Bar and his wife Brandy O'Bar.

Survivors include her brother, Paul Gray; daughters, Wylene Janzen, June O'Bar, and Janine Schuman; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Ruth will be held Monday, July 3, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by the celebration of life service at 3:00 PM.
