Mary Jo Faulkner, 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 3, 2017. Ms. Faulkner was preceded in death by her parents, George William and Lola Vivian McDaniel Bramlett; her first husband, Harry George Jr.; her second husband, Bill Faulkner; her brother, Buddy Bramlett; and Grandson Cameron Deroche.
Left to cherish her precious memory are her 3 daughters; Lynn Pearman (Gary) of Madison, AL, Nancy Syzdek (Mike) of Houston, TX, Peggy Faulkner Deroche of Tampa, FL; 3 sons, Ron George (Phyllis) of Benton, AR, Harry Lewis (Lew) George III of Atlanta, GA, David Faulkner (Pam) of Carriere, MS.; 10 Grandchildren; Paige Sandlin (Sam) of Huntsville, AL, Zach Pearman of Meridianville, AL, Kelley Schroeder (Blake) of Austin, TX, Amy Syzdek of Austin, TX, Shelly Faulkner of Montgomery, TX, Kristy Guidry of Houma, LA, Ashley Dale (Billy) of Cumming, GA, Steve George (Valerie) of Arlington, VA, Pete Caruso (Mary) of Gainesville, GA, and Amber Deroche of Tampa, FL; 11 Great-Grandchildren, Ava Sandlin, Huntsville, AL, Kayleigh, Addison and Johnny Pearman of Meridianville, AL, Pierson Faulkner of Montgomery, TX, Gage and Kaydance Portier of Houma, LA, Peter Caruso of Gainesville, GA, and Abby, Annie and Wyatt Dale of Cumming, GA; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mary Jo married Harry Lewis George, Jr. in 1944 in Homewood, AL. Mr. George was a Captain in the US Army and a WWII Veteran. He passed May 18, 1971 and is interred at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, GA.
Mary Jo was again blessed and married Carlton Gaines (Bill) Faulkner on September 17, 1972. Bill was a retired Sr. Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, served in 3 wars and was highly decorated. He passed away July 25, 2005 and is interred with honors at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL.
She lived most of her adult life in the Florida and Alabama area. Most of her senior life, she resided in Lillian and Madison, AL with her last residence being Morningside of Madison Assisted Living.
Mary Jo was a member of First Baptist Church in Lillian, AL. She lived a happy active life, loved to play bridge and golf, and participated in many volunteer activities with various organizations.
Mary Jo was truly a gracious, beautiful, “SOUTHERN LADY” with a strong belief in God and Family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her!
The family is especially thankful for the care provided by Morningside of Madison Assisted Living, Hospice of North Alabama, Huntsville Hospital, and Dr. John Fanning.
A private memorial service officiated by Rev. Danny Courtney will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 in Columbus, GA. In lieu of flowers the family requests remembrances be made to Hospice of North Alabama, 3311 Bob Wallace Ave SW, Unit 101, Huntsville, AL, 35805.
