Margie E. Goodwin

Mrs. Goodwin was a businesswoman, operating Goodwin’s Seed and Feed for almost 40 years and was somewhat of a fixture alongside highway 72 in Gurley. Mrs. Goodwin served on the Madison County Board of Directors for the Alabama Farmers Federation for 40 years.

Margie was preceded by her parents, husband of 53 years Wallace Goodwin, sisters; Doris Francis, Mildred Lindsey, and Maurine Drake all of Vinemont, AL, Louise Grizzard of Decatur, AL.

Margie is survived by sons, John Goodwin and wife Tammy of Huntsville, AL, David Goodwin and wife Teresa of Meridianville, AL, a sister; Mauline Sloan of Birmingham, AL, grandsons; Jarrett Goodwin and wife Leah of Fairhope, Will Goodwin and wife Tori of Morristown, NJ, Seth Goodwin of Huntsville, AL, Landon Goodwin of Gurley, AL, Alec Goodwin of New Market, AL, and a step grandson Nolan Barnes and wife Cassidy of Shelbyville, TN.

A visitation for Margie will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. A chapel service will occur Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM officiated by Pastor Jeff Bennett, with entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
