Mary (Alice) Jenson, age 94, passed away peacefully on November 16th, 2021 at Fingerlakes Center for Living in Auburn, NY with two of her loving daughters at her side. Her memorial service is being held on Saturday, May 21st at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens in Huntsville, Alabama. There, she will be laid to rest next to her husband of 59 years, Roger E. Jenson, who passed away on March 24, 2015 in Huntsville, Alabama. Roger and Alice moved to Alabama from their home in Florida to be near their youngest daughter, Jayne M. Sales. She and her husband Ron Sales, lovingly cared for them until Alice moved to be near two of her other daughters in upstate New York.
Alice, as she preferred to be called, was born on September 7, 1927 in McKees Rocks, PA, to Joseph G. Weisser, and Margaret Foley Weisser. She married Roger E. Jenson on June 2nd, 1956. They had five children, Judy Schmidt (Rick) of Portland, Oregon, Cynthia L. Jenson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ron Jenson (Stella) of Houston, Texas, Holly (Dwight) Lewis of Skaneateles, New York, and Jayne M. Sales of Huntsville, Alabama. She had seven grandchildren, Michael, Morgan, Danielle, Erika, Alexa, Tyler and Benjamin, and 6 great grandchildren, Euteva, Wesley, Ryan, Cullen, Jackson and Declan. She was also blessed with her loving nieces and nephews from her Pittsburgh family and treasured the times she was able to see them.
Alice was a successful career person, managing large department stores in Allentown, Pennsylvania before she married and had her family. She was an excellent cook and was often asked to cater small business events when she lived in Scottsboro Alabama. She was a Hospice volunteer and a volunteer in her community watch where they called her “Officer Al.” She was a fun-loving happy person who never looked her age and was very active until the last year of her life when her mobility slowed her down. She spent her last few years near her children and nephews in Upstate New York and thoroughly enjoyed and loved her home and friends at Bluefield Manor in Auburn, New York.
Alice was predeceased by her oldest sibling, Ann Jane Price ( Nanny) , and her brother Joseph A. Weisser (Jobie). Her sister Norma R. Ford, lives in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.
